Getting there
Volcano Island sits across the water beyond the Desert biome; the smoking peak is visible from the Desert edge. The entrance is a small opening on the right side of the volcano, and guides agree you need a flying pet to reach it and to get out again. Phoenix is the usual pick.
The Dragon’s Lair and the Volcanic Egg
Inside, wooden beams and red crystals mark the way down to the Dragon’s Lair, a lava chamber where the Volcanic Egg sits on a dark rock platform beside a sleeping Dragon Guardian. Picking the egg up wakes it:
- Wait for the on-screen spawn announcement, or ask the Tracker NPC whether the egg is up. The Eternal Radar does not track this egg.
- Bring a flying pet: Phoenix at least. Players report they could not escape without one.
- Before picking the egg up, note the beams and crystals you passed. On the way out, turn left at the Blue Crystal area to reach the exit.
- Picking it up wakes the Dragon Guardian. You have 20 seconds to get out of the volcano.
- Then fly straight to your ranch and place the egg in a free nest before the second timer runs out.
The game announces when the egg spawns and the Tracker NPC can tell you if it is up. The Eternal Radar does not track it. Full details on the Volcanic Egg page.
The Griffin
Guides say the Griffin only hatches from the Volcanic Egg, at listed odds of 1 in 15Qi, and that a Volcanic Egg is no guarantee of one. Update 3 raised the Griffin’s odds; nobody has published the new figure. See the Griffin page.
The Magma mutation
You can dip an egg into the volcano once to try for the Magma mutation (x10 speed and money, per the Fandom wiki):
- 15% chance of success: the egg gets Magma and 8 extra seconds on its timer.
- 85% chance of failure: the egg comes back to your hand with 5 seconds less on its timer.
- Each egg can only be dipped once.

What about Volkaris?
The Fandom wiki has a page for a pet called Volkaris that it says only hatches very rarely from a Volcanic Egg, but its pictures are marked “placeholder” and no other source mentions it. We do not list it as a real pet until someone shows it in game.
